Frequently Asked Questions
How much time is required for location scouting?
Normal location scouting requires 6-7 days with the following steps.
1/ Searching our extensive database, Twenty2 Production shortlist locations and present existing videos, photos and any additional information to share with the director to ensure locations answer their specific project criteria.
2/ Once database locations are confirmed to match project criteria, Twenty2 production visit these locations and continue to search for additional locations and begin checking scheduling to match the timeline of your project.
3/ Twenty2 Production round up all valid information with photographs and scheduling and present them to the director.
4/ After presentation to the director, Twenty2 Production assists in a scheduled visit to each short-listed location.
How many possible locations should be selected?
For each scene, we recommend 3-4 locations choices to select. For example, if you have 3 different scenes, between 9-12 different location choices would be required. However, as we know each project criteria can be different, the number of location choices may change and can be negotiated throughout the process.
What if there is difficulty in choosing locations?
The first step Twenty2 Production performs when accepting any project is meeting with the director first to share our extensive database. This ensures all parties are following the same project criteria and prevents difficulty in selecting locations. In the case of locations not answering to project criteria, we can present available solutions to match back to specific project criteria. Twenty2 Production understands that changes in project criteria are the norm and we are more than happy to work with you through minor changes. For major changes in locations, Twenty2 Production would need to renegotiate to represent a new list of locations that match the new project criteria.
What will Twenty2 Productions be doing during the shoot?
For street and public locations, Twenty2 Production crew will not be present as special and government permits have already been obtained for your project. This is to assist in reducing costs to the final project budget.
For private and government-owned locations, Twenty2 Production will assist in obtaining required permits, insurance for shooting on location and submission of payment before the shoot. Our crew members will be present before the shoot to place safety measures to prevent damage from occurring during the shoot and return the location in its original state after shooting has been completed. During private location shooting, Twenty2 Production crew will be present to assist in any issues in relation to the shooting location and to ensure seamless shooting.
Can we use Twenty2 Productions only for location scouting?
For street and public areas, Twenty2 Production can assist with location scouting and also source all permits and application forms for your own easy application.
For private and government-owned locations, Twenty2 Production are under contact and act as their representatives to protect their assets during the shoot and therefore need to be present throughout the project. As we are responsible for any issues in relation to the location during shooting, Twenty2 Production crew will be present to assist in issues relating to the location to ensure seamless shooting and returning locations back in their original state.
